Our 2024 LMU Camera/Lighting Tests (Part 1) are now available at https://cinematography.net/2024-LMU-tests/index.html .
In Part 1 of our test we captured 22 LED lights (+ tungsten) with 8 different cameras (and two different “color sciences” on one camera) at two or three different color temperature settings: 3200 K, 5600 K, and 4400 K on three lights. The 4400 K tests are in response to a CML discussion on using that color temperature as a happy medium between 3200 K and 5600 K.
In addition to video clips of all the tests strung together, organized by camera and by light, there’s a Thumbnails page allowing direct access to all 432 tests, in both exposure-leveled-only and leveled-and-white-balanced versions; and an A/B Comparison page where you can compare any two tests side-by-side.
I’m happy to answer questions about the test during our Wednesday Zoom chat (next Wednesday at 10am PDT, 1pm EDT, or whatever your time zone is, at https://zoom.us/j/94426303343 ) or on cml-lighting. Roberto Schaefer will probably be available on Zoom, too, and certainly on cml-lighting.
