Cinematographer Mandy Walker ASC ACS chose Panavision lenses and the ARRI Alexa 65 camera when director Niki Caro asked her to lens a new, live-action adaption of Mulan for Disney.
Channeling classic epics such as David Lean’s Lawrence of Arabia and opting for a heightened colour palette, Walker feels the film presented a great opportunity to tell the story of a woman realizing her inner strength and to deliver a positive message about family and devotion.
