The event was attended by GSC members, supporters and many friends of the Society and marked an important moment of celebration for the art of cinematography and the broader visual storytelling community in Greece.
GSC Best Cinematography Award 2025, for Feature Film
This year, 19 films were shortlisted for the main award, including 17 narrative features and 2 documentaries.
The viewing period lasted for almost two months and voting was conducted through a secret ballot by all Regular and Honorary GSC Members between May 31 and June 2, 2025.

GSC Honorary Awards 2025
The GSC also awarded three honorary distinctions in order to recognize individuals whose contributions have significantly shaped the modern Greek visual culture, both within and beyond the scope of cinematography.
- Dimitris Arvanitis, a renowned visual communication designer and member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale, was honored for “the powerful influence of his work on contemporary visual communication and his emphasis on proportion and rhythm as foundational elements of the image, as well as for his contribution to the GSC” , as he has also designed the official GSC logo.
- Babis Kalterimtzis, an experienced gaffer and long-standing collaborator of many Greek cinematographers, received an award for “his discreet contribution to the development of cinematography and the formation of the modern Greek cinematic image.”
- Eleftheria Deko, a distinguished lighting designer, was recognized for “her exceptional ability to integrate light and shadow as both aesthetic and functional components in theatrical and architectural environments.”
