 On Thursday evening (29th July), the Brazilian Cinematheque in Sao Paulo – which has been home to much of the country’s filmmaking legacy for many decades – was engulfed in flames. From IMAGO, we would like to offer our sympathy and support to the ABC at this difficult time. The tragic event has resulted in the loss of years of cinematographic history, not only in Brazil but also worldwide. It is an irreparable catastrophe that erases the history of our people in one stroke. Cinematheques should be considered, without a doubt, one of our cultural treasures.
