The AAC, Austrian Association of Cinematographers, honours two important personalities. The two Danish colleagues, Jan Weincke, DFF and Andreas Fischer Hansen, DFF, who have rendered outstanding services to international cinematography in particular in their functions at IMAGO, were awarded honorary AAC membership in Denmark on 28 July 2023.
Andreas Fischer-Hansen, DFF took over the presidency of IMAGO in an economically critical phase and in this function he succeeded not only in bringing about a sustainable consolidation, but also in setting the course for the future of the umbrella organisation. Due to his commitment and not least due to the work of the committees, whose creation Andreas greatly promoted, IMAGO was able to rise to become a recognised player at the international level.
Jan Weincke, DFF realised early on how important the international exchange of experience is for our profession and was the driving force behind the creation of the IMAGO Masterclass Committee. This committee subsequently organised many unique international symposia with the most renowned representatives of our guild. As Chairman of the IMAGO Election Committee for many years, Jan always prudently ensured that the elections for the Presidency and the Board could take place under flawless democratic conditions.
IMAGO warmly congratulates both of them on this well-deserved award.
The AAC appoints Andreas Fischer-Hansen as an HONORARY MEMBER, acknowledging his significant contributions to international cinematography. This appointment is specifically based on his wise and successful commitment as the president of IMAGO, the umbrella organization for cinematographers.
The AAC appoints Jan Weincke as an HONORARY MEMBER in view of his great services to international cinematography, in particular for his wise management of the IMAGO Election Committee and his decisive contribution to the IMAGO Masterclass Committee.
