bc97In our latest cover feature article, we speak to Roger Deakins CBE BSC ASC about his incredible Oscar-winning work on Sam Mendes' 1917.

The critically-acclaimed film tells the story of two young British soldiers who are ordered to deliver a critical message to call off an attack during the First World War.

Deakins tells us about building the film’s dramatic journey as one continuous shot, the switching of cameras between systems during takes, and lighting the spectacular scene in the bombed-out town.
