Sales in the audiovisual sector worldwide are at breathtaking heights. In Europe alone, these sales are higher than in the auto industry. It’s a matter of respect that those who generate these enormous sales with their professional skills and their hard work also experience the appreciation they deserve for practicing their profession. Unfortunately, this is often not the case. As IMAGO discovered, the working conditions and social security of many colleagues internationally are in very poor shape.
Therefore, the IMAGO Working Conditions Committee and the IMAGO Committee of Diversity and Inclusion ask you for your commitment:
Together with FORBA Working Life Research Centre, Vienna we have elaborated a survey to assess and quantify working conditions of directors of photography and their crew across Europe and internationally. In many IMAGO member countries, working conditions are seriously deteriorating, 14-15hr days is more the rule than the exception, and the problem is increasing in many places.
We think it is IMAGO’s responsibility to contribute to stopping this negative trend!
WHY should YOU fill out?
YOUR answer will help to contribute to European policy development on quality of work and employment in the audiovisual sector.
YOUR answer will help to inform and influence policy and the film production environment to implement satisfactory working conditions and last not least YOUR answer will encourage all IMAGO members worldwide to stand for better working conditions using the study as an example and reflection of their own working world.
YOUR ANSWER WILL HELP TO IMPROVE WORKING CONDITIONS OF DIRECTORS OF PHOTOGRAPHY AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT IN GENERAL
