A new IMAGO committee was formed during the IAGA 2024 in London, the IMAGO Film Preservation and Restoration Committee (IPRC), with the following mission statement:

Film Heritage is the main concern of the IMAGO Film Preservation and Restoration Committee. We aim to find ways to preserve and, when necessary, to restore films, as well as conduct research that may help improve the technology and techniques used on these processes.
By creating, developing and expanding partnerships – within the public and the private sectors, and with film institutes, cinematheques, film archives, film schools – we hope to help protect and preserve our film history.
