Rolv Håan has passed away. He never stopped working for improving the rights of cinematographers, not least during many years within IMAGO´s Authorship and Working Conditions Committees.
Rolv was for many years the President of the Norwegian Film Union, and also the President of the Norwegian Society of Cinematographers FNF, and he formed the path forward for both organizations.
In addition to working as a cinematographer on a large number of feature films, he also had an extensive career as a lecturer at the Norwegian Film School, and gained extraordinary popularity among the students, with his not only extensive cultural and technical knowledge, but also his diplomatic skills. When FNF arranged Master Classes with high profile cinematographers visiting Oslo, like Roger Deakins and Bruno Delbonnel, Rolv was the natural chosen moderator.
Rolv Håan was Honorary Member of both the Norwegian Society of Cinematographers FNF, and the Norwegian Film Union NFF.
Rolv will be deeply missed—as a cinematographer, a union representative, a lecturer, and not least, as a colleague and a friend.
